I could not help but chuckle at Red Willow County Commissioner Vera Dack suggesting that the voters be given a vote on keeping the county health department open or not. It was only two years ago that our commissioners overturned the will of the citizens when we voted against building a new jail. These same commissioners then asked our city attorney to find a loop hole in the law that allowed such an action to occur...

This week my youngest decided, against better judgment and her daddy's advice, to run through the newly mowed yard without her shoes on.
