Only one step remains for the current McCook City Council to select the final solution for McCook's water problems following Monday night's regular meeting. In a final push for the Nebraska Republican Party, six candidates for state office made a stop in McCook to promote the GOP in the 2002 general election, Monday. U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel, Gov. Mike Johanns, Secretary of State John Gale, State Treasurer Lorelee Byrd, State Auditor Kate Witek and candidate for State Attorney General John Bruning made a 45-minute stop in McCook as part of the final GOP campaign sweep...
