Couple bound over on bad check charges

A couple who wrote a spate of forged checks totalling $6,000 were bound over to District Court Tuesday. Kassie M. North, 23, and Michael Haar, 37, addresses unavailable, were arraigned in Red Willow County Court and charged with second degree forgery. Memorial Day 2007 has come and gone. Personally, I am very grateful for this opportunity to honor our veterans. Memorial Day is a time of remembrance and reflection, not only for veterans, but for family and friends. Each year, the American Legion Post 203, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boy Scouts, and a group of proud citizens put more than 400 American flags on known veterans' grave sites in Memorial Park and Riverview cemeteries in McCook. ...

It is the last week of the First Regular Session of the 100th Legislature and any bill that has not made it onto the agenda by now has little chance to see debate this year. With only three legislative days left the bills that have not been indefinitely postponed (killed) and are sitting in committee or in the debate process at the end of this session, will be carried over to next year's session...
