Friday, Nov. 10, will be the 231st birthday of the United States Marine Corps. On Nov. 10, 1775, a Corps of Marines was created by a resolution of the Continental Congress. A great weight has been lifted from the shoulders of City of McCook officials. Since last summer, residents and visitors have been needlessly concerned about the quality of drinking water produced by home taps and drinking fountains. That's when our new $12.27 million, state-of-the-art water treatment plant went into operation, removing the impurities that got McCook's water system into trouble with authorities and touched off a search for a new source of water something akin to Homer's Odyssey...
