School name to be revisited

McCook Public Schools board of education members will once again discuss a name for McCook's new single-site elementary facility, during a regular meeting scheduled Monday at 6 p.m., in the junior high conference room. During last month's meeting, board member Mike Gonzales suggested naming the new school something more inspiring than "Mc-Cook Elementary," and encouraged anyone with ideas to contact board members...

I received my "Greetings" letter from Uncle Sam in July of 1968. I had been on the Tulsa Police Department less than a year, after four years at the University of Arkansas with a student deferment. I think I'm one of the few from that time period who doesn't remember his draft "lottery" number but I have no idea what it was. Evidently it was pretty low...
