Things sure have changed during the past generation when it comes to the social graces. A good friend of mine, Dan Beers, who lived in McCook before he moved to Missouri with his new bride last year, asked me once why so few people have "class" any more. Granted, style, taste and class have different meanings for different people, yet when we hear those words, most of us conjure up similar definitions and understandings...

More proof of value of Work Ethic Camp

Be careful what you wish for ... you may get it. That would have been hard advice to take back when McCook was unfairly passed over for the new state prison four years ago. But if anyone has doubts that the Work Ethic Camp is a better fit for our community, they should take note of the news from Tecumseh, which "won" the prison...
