Volunteers on foot and on all-terrain vehicles turned out this morning to search for McCook man Scott Hoffman, who disappeared while walking his dogs in Barnett Park on Sunday afternoon. Authorities were called out after he failed to return home by about 6:30 p.m. ...

KEARNEY -- McCook High School junior Jessica Hall set a new school record in the 11-dive event at the Kearney Diving Invitational on Saturday. Hall placed second with a score of 342.10, which was less than six points from the top finisher. The meet record for the Kearney Invitational was broken by all three of the top divers...

GOTHENBURG -- The McCook High School varsity boys and girls basketball teams both went into overtime Saturday afternoon at Gothenburg. The Bison boys outlasted the Swedes 73-70 in double overtime, but the girls fell short 59-53 in one extra frame. The Bison led at halftime 34-22. The score was tied 54-54 after regulation and 64-64 after one extra period...

CAMBRIDGE -- The Dundy County Tiger girls basketball team avenged two straight losses to conference rival Cambridge with a 48-40 win Saturday night. Dundy County used a 16-5 fourth quarter to seal the win and finished with three players in double digits...

Fearing the worst and hoping for the best, we can only guess at this point what took place when Scott went on a Sunday afternoon outing in Barnett Park with his dogs, Tippy, Belle and Taz...
