A pair of McCook Community College volleyball teammates will continue being teammates as Amerika Jones and Kaylee Palmieri both signed their letters of intent Monday to continue their careers at Missouri Southern State in Joplin, Mo. Jones, a graduate of Moanalua High School, Honolulu, Hawaii, came to MCC as a walk-on, later earned a scholarship, and is now moving on to an NCAA Division II school – thanks in part to Palmieri, who ultimately became a “driving” force in her volleyball path... -

MCC softball team conquers voyage to Columbus

COLUMBUS - The McCook Community College softball team opened conference play Tuesday with a pair of wins over Central Community College. MCC won 6-2 in the opener and won the second game 13-8 in eight innings. “It was nice coming away with two wins so I’m proud of the kids,” said MCC Coach Kevin Kaalberg. “We struggled some with the slower pitching and while we had 31 hits today we left players on base and had dry spells.”...
