McCOOK, Neb. -- Red Willow County, Nebraska, commissioners officially accepted a $571,000 bid Monday morning for the construction of a new arena/multi-purpose building on the fairgrounds in McCook. Engineer Jeff Tidyman of Engineering International, McCook, told commissioners that the single responsive bid (meeting all the specs advertised) came from J.L. Construction of McCook. A second bid was $100,000 less expensive, but did not meet advertised specs, nor was the bidder bonded, Tidyman said...
