Way to go western Nebraska football fans! Your attendance at the Chadron State vs West Texas NCAA II Football Playoff game at Elliott Field on Saturday was simply amazing. In my 36 years of attending CSC home games, I have never seen a larger or more enthusiastic crowd. After the game, one of the West Texas A&M players told one of our players that, even though their home stadium holds 20,000 people, he has never played in front of a louder crowd than the one at Saturday's game...

In 1983 the U. S. Government created the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site (PCMS) in Southeast Colorado. At that time the promise was made that the site would never be expanded. This year, that same government announced, through the Army at Fort Carson, expansion plans for the PCMS. Instead of taking 250,000 acres like in 1983, the new proposal would extend the site to 2.5 million acres...
