**Dear Editor, In 2002, the City of McCook abandoned an existing tennis court that was constructed in the 1950s in Kelley Park. The city then purchased and installed skate park equipment in this area. The skate park equipment was manufactured out of a wood by-product. In 2004, the equipment deteriorated to the point of being unsafe. The city determined it would be in the best interest of the skateboarders to remove the equipment rather than risk injury...
