Courtesy photo State Fair winners Red Willow County had an excellent showing of 4Her's in the area of Companion Animal-Dog Project for this year's Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Youth representing our county were, from left, Miranda Wordekemper and Rudy, who received a purple in Senior Showmanship (placing in the top six) and top blue in Beginning B Obedience; Kascade Tollman and Shadow, Grand Champion in Senior Showmanship and a white in Graduate Novice Obedience; Madison Snyder and Hank, purple in Senior Showmanship, purple in Agility and Reserve Champion in Graduate Novice; Kyle Gaston and Kasper, Reserve Champion in Senior Showmanship, third in Graduate Novice Obedience, Reserve Champion in agility; Greg Gaston and Stoli, purple in Senior Showmanship, blue in Obedience and purple in agility (finishing in the top 10); Nicole Dewey and Sissy, purple in Junior Showmanship, purple in agility and a blue in Obedience; and Bryn Carriker and Rusty, purple in Senior Showmanship, third blue in agility and a blue in Graduate Novice Obedience. ...

It's safe to say that anyone reading this has never been the subject of a funeral, but you've no doubt been to one and have stories to share with the Buffalo Commons Storytelling Festival group.
