Dear Editor, The Nebraska Farm Bureau should remember who helped them to get establish in Nebraska. It wasn't the big farming operations. They were established to help give a voice to the little farmer. The Farm Bureau feels that the regulations for livestock facilities should be viewed by the DEQ rather than local zoning authorities. ...

Dear Editor, I am one of the biggest race fans in Southwest Nebraska and I think it is time to voice my feelings. I thank God this is a free country where I can still do this. I can remember going to the races since the '60s. In recent years, I have been to most tracks within 250 miles of McCook as a spectator. I have also built and driven race cars, so I do believe I know what I'm talking about...

When I was in elementary school, I always wondered what went on in the Teacher's Lounge. Why did teachers need a special room of their own? Why did we have to knock before entering? What did the word "lounge" mean, anyway? I wanted answers. Most of all, I wanted to know why teachers who were normally quiet, sedate, serious, or downright crabby, could be heard laughing like crazy people from behind the door as I walked by...
