McCOOK, Neb. - Barbara Frances (Focke) Dunker, age 86, daughter of Francis and Leila (Wicke) Focke, was born in Atwood, Kan. on Oct. 29, 1938 and passed away on March 9, 2025 in McCook, NE.

Barbara was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ludell, Kan. on Nov. 13, 1938 by Rev. John T. Schmid. She renewed her baptismal vows by confirmation April 16, 1952 at Immanual Lutheran Church, Ludell, Kan. by Rev. Earl H. Martins.

On Dec. 12, 1958, Barbara was united in marriage to Eugene H. Dunker at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ludell, Kan. by Rev. Paul Siegel. Eugene and Barbara were blessed with two adopted children, Kent Alan and Lori Jean.

Barbara was a homemaker, day care provider for many years and worked some in town in her younger years. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible school, midweek school and was a member of the choir for many years.

Preceding her death, was her husband, mother, father, mother and father-in-law, one sister, five sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law, three nephews and one great nephew.

She is survived by her son Kent and wife Jane; and daughter Lori and husband Darin Mitchell; grandchildren Heath Dunker and girlfriend Diahonia Olson, Nash Dunker, Kevin Mitchell and wife Haley, Sara Mitchell and partner Corina Coulter, Emily and husband Cooper Blevins; one great-grandchild Callum Leroy Mitchell born nine days before her death; brothers Charles Focke and wife Ellen, and Bruce Focke; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends and special friend Cheryl Timm and her family.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Barbara is now at peace and in heaven with her husband Eugene.
