McCOOK, Neb. - The McCook Fire Department held its annual volunteer appreciation banquet and awards earlier this week.
Chief Marc Harpham offered a special “thank you” to members for being in the profession characterized by “Odd Hours, No Pay, and Cool Hats.” Harpham added congratulations to the volunteers for their community service and making the department a success.
Harpham also expressed appreciation for both the McCook and Southwest Public Power Districts for sending all MFD members to see the source of that reference. The film, “Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat,” a film about volunteer firefighters, was screened at Carver Cinema on the evening of the banquet.
