McCOOK, Neb.—Community Hospital Health Foundation is excited to announce a grant awarded to enhance physical therapy services through the purchase of a BlazePod® System. These innovative tools are designed to improve agility, reaction time, and overall physical performance. Initiated by Ryan Hardin, Community Hospital Physical Therapist, this engaging therapy equipment will primarily be utilized by the Community Hospital Rehabilitation Center’s physical therapy team, with potential applications in occupational therapy as well.

The devices resemble hockey pucks that connect to a mobile app. They record reaction times and provide real-time feedback, making agility training dynamic and interactive. The system offers customizable exercises and preset games, encouraging motivation through friendly competition and measurable progress. The system benefits a wide range of patients, from athletes seeking performance enhancement to older adults aiming to reduce fall risk. By providing measurable agility training and objective data to track patient progress, the system supports rehabilitation outcomes effectively.

“This system makes therapy more enjoyable while delivering real-time feedback that motivates patients and demonstrates measurable improvement,” Hardin explains. “It’s a versatile tool that benefits people of all ages. Improved reaction times, for example, can significantly reduce fall risks, while the visual feedback encourages patients to challenge themselves safely.”
