Bulldogs outscratch McCook girls, must rebound at Bow tonight

McCOOK, Neb. — A familiar McCook name returned to cause too much trouble for the Bison girls basketball team Friday night.

Abbey Kaminski scored a game-high 16 points while continuing her fine high school career with former McCook hoops great Matt Kaminski.

The Kaminski Bulldogs stepped most during a double overtime period Friday night and held on for one stunning 51-49 victory.

It was only North Platte’s fifth win this season while dropping the Bison to 11-5.

McCook missing 27 of 28 three-point tries was maybe not even as painful 12 crucial missed free throws.

Senior Brooklynn Gillen did make of six, but the Bison sophomore top scorer Cali Crawford due to illness.

North Platte’s faced its own ailments yet saw new girls really step up.

BULLDOGS (51) — Abbey Kaminski 16 points paced the North Platte big road win.
