McCOOK, Neb. - Kenneth “Ken” Wells made his journey to heaven at the age of 77. He passed away surrounded by family at the Community Hospital in McCook, Neb. on Jan. 8, 2025.
Ken was born in Monroe, Wis. on Sept. 4, 1947, to parents Guy and Edith (Reynolds) Wells. The Wells family moved from Wisconsin to McCook, Neb. for milder weather. Ken graduated from McCook High School in 1965.
Ken married the love of his life Susan Elaine Myers in McCook, Neb. at the Methodist Church on Sept. 11, 1965. Together they raised three children: Lori, Brian, and Chelsea.

If he didn’t know something, he was determined to figure it out. He could always be found in either the shop or garage tinkering with machines.
One of Ken’s passions was speed from boats to all types of racing cars. He was helpful and a great teacher when it comes to anything about machinery. Ken enjoyed spending time in Halsey, Neb. riding ATVs in the sand dunes and camping. Ken also enjoyed the many RV trips he and Susan took, especially their trips to South Texas.
Ken is proceeded in death by his parents; granddaughter Poppy; and brothers-in-law, Richard and Ronald Myers.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife, Susan Wells of McCook, Neb.; children, Brian (Sara) Wells of McCook, Neb., Lori (Mike) Stevens of McCook, Neb., and Chelsea (Shane) Wells of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Larry (June) Wells of McCook, Neb.; sisters Carolyn (Keith) Weld of Littleton, Colo. and Elaine Wells of McCook, Neb.; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; seven great step-grandchildren and two great-great step-grandchildren; best friends, Wally Hampton, Joe Morosic, and Jim Dubois; and numerous extended family and friends.
