McCOOK, Neb. — Numbers of teams are rising like a beautiful arching three-point shot for Saturday’s 34th annual Mac Attack youth basketball tournament.

Spokesman Charlie McPherson reported ther are 15 more teams registered than one year ago.

He told KICX Radio and Bison voice Rich Barnett that approximately 53 teams are expected to visit McCook along with friends and family for this annual McCook Optimist Club event.

“It’s going to be a fun event,” McPherson confirmed.

Once again, games will take place all day beginning at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The action is scheduled for four McCook sites: McCook High, McCook Junior High, St. Patrick school and McCook Community College’s Graff Events Center.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 covering students with kindergarteners or youngers attending all day for free.

McPherson said fans will receive a stamp so they can watch games at all sites without any extra costs. Nebraska teams fill many tournament spots though Kansas and Colorado will be represented. Good weather above freezing temperatures are expected this weekend, unlike last year when overnight snow caused some cancellations.
