Wolves roar to 10-1 record, Warriors deliver strong victory

Arapahoe 65, Maxwell 43

MAXWELL, Neb. — Arapahoe's girls shot to a 20-7 opening lead and never looked back in their first game of 2025 Tuesday night.

Suttyn Shafer's 15 points and 12 from Cadence Carpenter powered the 7-4 Warriors.

Yet McKenzie Ewoldt added eight points when she hit all of her shots.

Sawyer Shafer sent another seven through the Tiger nets while Emma Strand scored six, Taytum Roskop four, Clara Hilker four, Riley McCune three and Sage Larson three points.

Strand secured seven rebounds off many missed Maxwell shots. Sutton Shafer cleared another six boards with Roskop, Hilker and Ewoldt reaching four rebounds apiece.

Carpenter delivered a Warrior-best six assists.

MayHay 73, Hi-Line 17

MAYWOOD, Neb. — A 16-0 fourth quarter finished another win for the 10-1 Maywood-Hayes Center girls Tuesday evening.

Junior Karissa Stengel shot 80 percent (eight for 10) to match Caylie Softley's16 points. Both were one short from outscoring the Bulls so what's with that?

Senior Kesli Cox did accomplish this feat with her team-best 18 points. Junior Blayklee Farr tossed in 10 points and senior Aubrey Broz added another four.

Hi-Line slipped to 2-8 overall following a 40-3 second half. The Bulls saw Softley clear away six rebounds, Karissa Stengel five, Cox four and Blayklee Farr.

Wallace 40, Medicine Valley 35

WALLACE, Neb. — The Wallace Wildcats finally pulled away despite Medicine Valley senior Remmi Stout's 17 points, seven rebounds, five steals and even five blocked shots Tuesday night.

The Buffaloes only trailed by one point, 27-26, through three quarters but fell to 1-8 overall.

Oakley Stout crashed the glass for another 11 rebounds while adding eight points. Jordiya Phillips and Haylie Gustafsopn cleared nine caroms each of missed Wildcat shots.

Rawlins County 56, Trego 28

TREGO, Kan. — Senior Tayten Dewey dropped through 20 points and Kayte Shively scored 16 as Rawlins County, Kan., roared to a sixth win in seven games this season.

Camden Franklin contriubuted 11 points to the Buffaloes doubling that Trego points total.

Shirley achieved a double-double as she grabbed 13 rebounds. Dewey cleared away eight besides dishing out the Buffaloes-best five assists.

Oakley 48, Decatur Comm. 41

OAKLEY, Neb. — The Decatur Community, Kan., Red Devils remain a strong 6-3 despite Tuesday's road defeat. No other details were obtained.
