McCook girls keep reaching high wrestling places

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — McCook High’s wrestling girls finished 2024 with 97 points and sixth among 15 teams at Saturday’s North Platte Invitational.

Junior Peyton Cock took the 125-pound title and Kaylee Hunter was one point from placing first in her 155-pound division.

Sophomore Kayleigh Steinbeck matched Cock’s team-best 20 wins (20-4) as she pinned her final 235-pound foe for third place.

The Bison are wrestling again today at Ogallala.
