New Year’s Eve plans across Southwest Nebraska
McCOOK, Neb. – As New Year’s Eve approaches, Americans prepare to mark the end of the year in a variety of ways. According to CivicScience data, 59% of U.S. adults typically participate in New Year’s celebrations, with a similar percentage planning to observe the holiday this December 31. Celebrations range from parties and nightlife to quiet evenings at home with loved ones.
In McCook and surrounding areas, several events are planned to help residents ring in the new year:
The Rotary Club is hosting a “Western New Year’s Eve” event at the McCook City Auditorium. The evening includes line dancing lessons from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., followed by music and dancing until 12:30 a.m. Tickets, priced at $100 for couples and $55 for individuals, include two drink tickets, access to a taco and nacho bar provided by CB Carniceria, a live DJ, a photo booth, and a midnight champagne toast. DJ Adam, also known as Needles and Noise, will provide music at Outlaws Saloon in McCook (1006 W. B Street). The event features jello shots, complimentary champagne at midnight, and other activities throughout the night.
Amateurs Bar and Grill, 602 Paxton Street in Cambridge, will offer New York steak and salmon dinner specials from 5 to 8 p.m. Music from JAAG DJ services begins at 9 p.m. and continues until 1 a.m., accompanied by happy hour specials, jello shots, and a champagne toast at midnight.
The Round Up, at 116 4th Street in Indianola, is hosting a Neon Party featuring live music by Strings Attached. The evening includes ribeye steak specials, champagne at midnight, and various drink and shot specials. Guests are encouraged to wear neon-themed attire.
For those seeking a quieter celebration, Carver Cinema will show Nosferatu (rated R), Mufasa: The Lion King (rated PG), and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (rated PG).
