Rolling out the final league champions of 2024 in McCook

McCOOK, Neb. — Several local pool players were recently recognized for winning the Summer Session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball and 9-Ball Pool Leagues.
The Sunday 8-Ball title went to “Chalk Jockeys” out of TJ’s Family Fun Center in McCook with top photo at right featuring Damon Barber, Rick Shafer, Tom Harris, Eddie Park, Carter Dack, Jerry Bishop and Chris Smith.
Not shown is Rob Dike.

Earning Sunday 8-Ball League MVP awards were Cindy Downey, David Thornbrugh, and Curtis Kappers.
The Monday 8-Ball championship went to “We Run Out” out of TJ’s Family Fun Center in McCook featured in middle right photo with Marty Bartlett, Drew Harms, Marcie Doak, David Wright, EmIlene Sides, Joni Wright and Steve Bartlett.

Winning the Thursday 9-Ball League was “The Outlaws” out of Eagles Club in McCook with below right photo featuring Bonnie Thornbrugh, Erica Johnson, Bill Thornbrugh, Lee Anderson, David Thornbrugh, and Vickie Thornbrugh.

Thursday 9-Ball MVP’s include Austin Haddix, Jackson Grafel, and Reese Troutman.
Grafel (right photo) also earned Top Male 9-Ball player in the Western Nebraska APA region.
Achieving Milestone Certificates for surpassing 500 matches played in the 8-Ball League were Kasandra Barber and Deanna Brott, and Bruce Hagan for hitting 500 matches in 9-Ball. (also photos at right).
