Warrior and Trojan girls triumph; boys fall short
ARAPAHOE, Neb. — The Arapahoe girls became an emphatic 5-1 this season with Tuesday’s 68-21 trouncing of Northern Valley, Kan.
Sophomore Clara Hilker scored 18 points and freshman Suttyn Shafer added 15 to lead the Warriors.
Another eight Arapahoe girls hit shots with Riley McCune adding seven points.
Northern Valley kept the Arapahoe boys winless, 53-29, though Chris Hermes scored eight points.
The Cambridge girls were 37-31 winners at Loomis to reach 2-3 as juniro Mallory Springer netted 14 points.
Aspen Webb added nine, Emmerie Tomlin six and Chloe Gooden five points.
Springer also pulled down an impressive 15 rebounds to lead the Trojan comeback.
The Loomis boys did top Cambridge, 60-42, even though Hodge Raburn scored 16.
