McCook three-sport star to play baseball for MCC
McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High School senior Quentin Terry signed a letter of intent to play baseball next year at McCook Community College.
While Terry was a multi-sport athlete in high school and played several positions on the baseball field, MCC coach Jon Olsen said Terry’s bat is probably what will get him on the field the quickest.
Terry played pitcher, catcher and corner infield spots for McCook’s American Legion teams and still has one summer left for them.
Quentin played all 41 games for the McCook National Bank Seniors last summer and his name can be found throughout the top offensive statstics.
Terry’s 44 total hits, 39 RBIs in those 41 games, 12 doubles, two triples and .393 batting average were all team bests besides a .960 fielding percentage.
He finished another strong Bison football state playoff run as a defensive force despite a mid-season injury.
Plus Quentin qualified for the Class B state wrestling meet last February.
Yet his proclaimed favorite sport is baseball.
Quentin, a former batboy for MCC, is planning to major in secondary education at the school.
