BARTLEY, Neb. — The Maywood-Hayes Center girls shot to a 19-9 lead and never looked back while reaching 2-0 Saturday afternoon.

Junior Karissa Stengel scored 21 points, Blayklee Farr 12, Kesli Cox nine and Caylie Softley eight for the Wolves.

Senior Reagan Stengel soared for nine rebounds with Farr clearing another six.

No details were obtained about the 1-1 Roughriders.

Arapahoe 68,

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Arapahoe’s girls followed a Thursday upset of D-1 No. 1 Overton with another impressive triumph over Lawrence-Nelson.

Desi Farner’s 10 points led a balanced while Warrior defense held the Raiders to 13 points through those final three quarters.

Clara Hilker hit three of four shots and added eight points as did McKenzie Ewoldt.

Suttyn Shafer (seven) and Sawyer Shafer (six) almost equally divided another 13 points. Freshman Tatym Roskop delivered a team-best nine rebounds besides four assists.

Creek Valley 14

LODGEPOLE, Neb. — Stephanie Escobar (19 points) and Anna Spargo (17) both outscored the entire Creek Valley team during a decisive second Dundy County-Stratton victory of this opening weekend.

The duo teamed to hit 17 of 28 field goals for 61 percent accuracy.

Kimberly Escobar tallied 12 points, Emily Schack nine, Ava Lutz eight and Kennedy Bailey another eight.

DC-S built a 49-13 halftime advantage and allowed just three Creek Valley points after the break.

Paxton 47,

Med Valley 25

PAXTON, Neb. — Senior Remmi Stout ripped down 17 rebounds to highlight an otherwise rough Staurday night for the Medicine Valley Raiders.

Stout scored eight points, Khloe Elsten five and Oakley Stout another five.

Raider defense kept the margin close at 15-10 entering halftime. However, Paxton unleashed a 19-point third quarter and finished 13-4 in the fourth.

FRIDAY

May-Hay 58,

Wallace 16

MAYWOOD, Neb. — Junior Blayklee Farr’s 19 points on seven-for-11 shooting ignited the Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves’ opening win.

Karissa Stengel delivered 16 points with 10 rebounds. Kesli Cox fired in 11 through the home nets.

Farr was also phenomenal with eight rebounds and four assists.

DC-S 61,

Cambridge 31

BENKELMAN, Neb. — Dundy County-Stratton’s first two quarters were both 17-5 as the Tigers build a 34-10 halftime margin over visiting Cambridge.

No individual Tiger stats were obtained.

Sophomore Elisabeth Kubik’s 10 points and 11 rebounds were Trojan highlights. She made 50 percent of her shots.

Junior Mallory Springer continued her strong start inside the paint, clearing 13 rebounds to go with eight points.

Senior Emmerie Tomlin and Aspen Webb added four points each for the 0-2 Trojans.

Rawlins 54,

Decatur 45

OBERLIN, Kan. — Rawlins County closed on a 20-10 run to rally from 35-34 down through three quarters as senior Tayten Dewey scored 27 points Friday evening.

Dewey drilled 12 of her 19 field goals for 63 percent.

Sophomore Camden Franklin dropped in 14 points while senior Kayte Shively scored 13.

Shively also cleaned the glass for 14 rebounds. Franklin dished out six assists.

No Decatur Community Red Devil stat leaders were obtained.
