Friday, December 6, 2024

VERTON, Neb. —Freshman Taytum Roskop hit all seven of her field goals and totaled 16 points in Arapahoe’s 55-42 win at Overton Thursday night.

Sophomore Clara Hilker nearly matched that amazing pace with seven-for-eight shooting and another 16 points.

The other Warriors (1-0) did more than enough to dominate this recent Class D-1 powerhouse — ranked No. 1 pre-season — throughout their season opener.

Arapahoe outscored Overton during ever quarter, leading 28-21 at halftime and 42-32 through three quarters.

Freshman Suttyn Shaefer sent seven points through the nets while Cadence Carpenter contributed four.

Sawyer Shafer (three points), Riley McCune (three), Desi Farner (two) and McKenzie Ewoldt (two) completed the scoring for Arapahoe.

Oh by the way, Roskp was also a beast on those boards with 16 rebounds. Carpenter cleared seven and Hilker another five.
