Community Hospital to offer expanded oncology services

McCOOK, Neb. – Community Hospital is pleased to announce the launch of an expanded medical oncology service line starting January 2025. Dr. Benjamin George, currently a visiting medical oncology specialist at the Community Hospital Medical Specialists Center, joins Ellen Branham, Community Hospital Nurse Practitioner, solidifying Community Hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional care to the region.

Dr. George, a highly skilled and compassionate oncologist, brings expertise in cutting-edge cancer care to the department. With this permanent position, including on-site support, five-days-a-week, Community Hospital strengthens its mission of leading our region to a healthier future by offering comprehensive and patient-centered oncology services, ensuring local access to advanced treatments and personalized care plans for patients battling cancer. “I am honored to join the Community Hospital team and help expand the oncology service line. My mission is to make cancer care more accessible, recognizing the challenges that come with a diagnosis,” explains Dr. George. “With our experienced team, we are dedicated to putting patients first and delivering compassionate, high-quality care close to home. I strive to treat every patient with kindness and respect, as if they are family, and I am proud to build on the excellent care this hospital has long provided to the region.” Dr. George and Branham, along with the teams in radiation oncology and outpatient injection/infusion will provide collaborative, comprehensive care, ensuring local access to advanced treatments and personalized care plans.
