Unified McCook bowlers roll into top two, host meet today at 3
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — McCook High Unified bowling teams took top two places in Saturday’s North Platte Invitational.
They warmed up for ther home matches today against Cambridge, Southern Valley and Ogallala at TJ’s Family Fun Center.
Lanes will get rolling with action shortly after 3 p.m.
On Saturday, McCook’s team of Blake Myers, Lacyn Keller, Jalen Collicott, Mark Wolfe and Sutton LaBrie won North Platte Invite Division 2.
They swept North Platte 2 105-68 and 93-45; In the semis, they bested North Platte 2 116-110 and 110-89.
McCook was then victorious in the championship round besting North Platte 3 118-85 and 110-81.
“It was a great day of bowling and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone,” coach Lynne Kinne commented.
Kinne also mentioned how another McCook Unified group played for the Division I title.
She provided more details:
“The team of Cody Stevens, Lacey Rouse, Reid Loop, and Max Proehl bat Kearney 1 114-100; 123-99.
In quarterfinals, McCook defeated North Platte 113-139; 143-117; 124-107; in the semifinals, they beat a tough Alliance 1 team 110-129; tied 124 with a one pin bowl off for the athletes Cody +8 and Alliance +3 to win the second game and then won the final game 124-107.
They lost to Alliance 2 in the Championship 129-92 and 121-98.
The team of Blaze Powers, Izzy Clause, Kolton Koetter, and Zach Hinz beat Kearney 3 139-90 and 128-104.
In the quarterfinals, they lost a close match to Ogallala 2 145-135 and 114-108.
The McCook Unified Bowling team will compete today in their final home match versus Ogallala, Cambridge, and Southern Valley.
Meet begins at 3 p.m. in TJ’s Family Fun Center.
