Culbertson boil water order reported as lifted
The McCook Gazette has received word that the order to boil water issued on November 14, 2024 has been lifted.
A notice being circulated on social media reads,
“CEASE BOIL WATER - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
"The Village of Culbertson — NE3108702, Public Water Supply System (System), was in violation of drinking water standards for E. coli. Customers were advised to boil water or to use bottled water on November 14, 2024.
“We are pleased to report that the contamination has been corrected. Special samples have been submitted and the results are total coliform and E. coli negative. You no longer need to boil your water or use bottled water. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
“Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.”
Village officials were not available for confirmation or comment.
