NORTH PLATTE, Neb.—The Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) Board of Governors will gather on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at North Platte Community College’s North Campus to address several significant items impacting students and campus facilities.

A key focus of the meeting will be financial matters, including a review of proposed tuition and fee adjustments for the 2025-26 academic year and setting housing and meal rates for the same period. These decisions will shape the affordability and accessibility of MPCC’s offerings in the coming year.

Enhancing campus infrastructure and technology will also be a priority. The Board will consider bids for new technology and television systems at McCook’s East Campus, as well as the replacement of deteriorating brickwork on the west side of the WW Wood building.

At North Campus, bids for the replacement of fuel tanks and pumps will be evaluated. Additionally, a proposal for a new patient simulator for the Nursing Department will be discussed, ensuring students have access to up-to-date training equipment.

Athletics will also feature on the agenda, with the Board considering a proposal for Division 1 athletic scholarship waivers, which could expand opportunities for student-athletes.

The meeting will also honor excellence within the college community, recognizing Kayla Thurman and Cathy Nutt, recipients of awards from the Nebraska Community College Association.

A closed session for negotiations is planned as well.
