Preliminary Report: School Bus Overturns Near Arapahoe, No Major Injuries Reported

GOSPER COUNTY – Initial reports indicate a school bus from Arapahoe Public Schools overturned late Monday afternoon, with no major injuries reported among the passengers.

Authorities report the accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Road 732, approximately three-quarters of a mile east of South Highway 283 and nine miles north of Arapahoe. The short bus was traveling eastbound at about 10 mph on a mud-packed road when it drifted into a ditch and tipped onto its driver’s side.

Emergency medical services assessed the seven children and one adult on board. Seatbelts were reportedly in use, which may have contributed to the lack of serious injuries.

Responders from local agencies assisted in clearing the scene, which was concluded by 4:35 p.m.
