Broncos, 'Riders both make all-district football first teams
BARTLEY, Neb. — The state playoff-qualifying Southwest Roughriders and Wauneta-Palisade Broncos both earned multiple selections on this fall's D6-4 All-District football team.
The district includes Six-Man defending champion Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (S-E-M), who plays this weekend for a repeat state championship Friday night at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
The wallace Wildcats and Paxton Tigers are two other D6-4 teams.
A rundown of all area selections include Medicine Valley Raiders who captured all-district recognition:
FIRST TEAM
OFFENSE
Quarterback: Houston Billeter, Southwest junior
Running back: Kreyton Wiese, Wauneta-Palisade sophomore
Receivers: Trenton Williams, Southwest senior; Aden Acton, Wauneta-Palisade
DEFENSE
Linemen: Deric Kelley, Southwest sophomore
Linebackers/defensive backs: Grayden Sutherland, Wauneta-Palisade junior
SECOND TEAM
OFFENSE
Quarterback: Nathan Blackman, Wauneta-Palisade senior
Running back: Jacob Barber, Southwest sophomore
Receivers: Kaleb Einspahr, Medicine Valley senior
Center: Noah Sandman, Wauneta-Palisade junior
DEFENSE
Linemen: Gage Hammond, Southwest sophomore
Linebackers/defensive backs: Lucas Einspahr, Medicine Valley sophomore
Honorable mention: Damario Koetter, Southwest junior; Mason Roblee, Medicine Valley sophomore.
