Bison put five on Class B all-state diamond team

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Bison made a state-wide impact as five softball girls were named to Omaha World-Herald’s Class B All-State this week.

Bison shortstop and leading hitter Brooklynn Gillen made the All-State second team.

No. 1 pitcher Briley Morgan, catcher Roslyn Wiemers, third baseman Paige Bortner and center fielder Malia Hilker earned Class B All-State honorable mention.

They were part of nine seniors who all played huge roles in the 26-8 Bison season.
