Rawlins and Decatur Red Devils both earn all-NWKL
ATWOOD, Kan. — Rawlins County senior Tayten Dewey and Decatur Community senior Jenna Fortin have landed spots on the all-Northwest Kansas League volleyball first team announced recently.
Dewey’s been a dynamite jumping force whether it’s been volleyball or hurdling in track and field throughout her high school career.
Fortin was named the NWKL’s best libero for all her defensive efforts during this 2024 season.
They topthe volleyball squad though several other Gazette-area athletes also earned mention.
Rawlins County junior Kayte Shively is on the second team along with Decatur Community-Oberlin junior Brylee Minnick.
Other all-NWKL players including unanimous first-team selections in senior Jadyn Mangan from Greeley County and junior Avery Jensen from St. Francis.
The Rawlins County Buffaloes and Decatur Community Red Devils also have completed their football seasons with state playoff games these last two weekends.
Some final results along with highlights about both teams will be included in the Gazette on Friday.
