LEXINGTON, Neb. — The McCook High Unified bowlers have delivered a pair of top three team places to start their 2024 season.

On Nov. 2, McCook Unified Bowling hosted its meet of the season at TJ’s Family Fun Center.

McCook placed third against a very tough field of teams, coach Lynne Kinne reported.

Lexington won the meet with a total pinfall of 2400, Ogallala 2084, McCook 1985 and Broken Bow with 1713.

“It was the first meet of the season and we are working on finding teams that gel,” Kinne said. “ I am so proud of everyone’s commitment to Unified bowling.”

On Saturday, McCook traveled to Lexington to compete in another invite.

A road trip didn’t knock McCook’s bowlers off their tagets.

The team of Riley O’Brien, Kolton Koetter, Izzy Clause, Layton Winters and Landon Kmoch finished the day with 1522, just 15 pins shy of the runner-ups Grand Island Northwest.

Cambridge won the division with a total pinfall of 1633.

In Division 2, the team of Blake Myers, Lacyn Keller, Lacey Rouse, Zach Hinze and Sutton LaBrie secured a runner-up victory with a total pinfall of 1266.

Lexington won that Division with a total pinfall of 1450.

“I am so proud of how well everyone bowled and performed,” Kinne concluded. “Unified Bowling is a short sport and wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of all the athletes and participants.”

McCook competes next in a Kearney High triangular.
