McCook tennis players finish three-week journey

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High tennis coach Matt Wiemers praised all his participants who finished a three-week intramural season Friday afternoon.

“Despite cooler and wet weather, along with high wind warning days, things went really well,” he remarked. “We used and filled all six courts as our numbers continue to be awesome!”

Wiemers just finished another strong fall varsity season where the Bison delivered another winning dual record, reached Class B’s top 15 and took home two steate medals.

Yet younger players learned plenty during these three weeks since his Bison season concluded.

:We covered all the strokes of tennis and gave our new players a solid foundation on fundamental swing technique and court strategies,” Wiemers explained. “The third week we culminated with a singles and doubles scrimmage.”

Here are results from those scrimmage matches on Friday at the McCook High courts.
