NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - Andrew “Andy” C. Knepp, 88, of North Platte, formerly of Curtis, Neb. passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 at Great Plains Health Hospital.
Andrew was born on Feb. 25, 1936 in Paradise, Kan., the son of Claude and Lela (Mead) Knepp. From 1936 until 2006 he lived in or near the village of Curtis, Neb., and graduated from Curtis High School in 1954. He was married to Evonne Orman and together they had two daughters, Corina and Katrina. He worked for his entire career as the livestock manager at the NE College of Agriculture in Curtis. He worked for 50 years, retired on June 30, 2006, and then worked 2 more years half time for the College of Agriculture. Andy also owned and operated a hog farm and raised horses and cattle for many years. He was married a second time on April 15, 1989 to Coralee Miller in Curtis. He loved participating in rodeos in and around Curtis, Neb., loved going on trail rides, and watching westerns. Andy was known for his wonderful sense of humor and for being a great cook, especially his world-famous homemade fudge. In 2007, he and Coralee moved to North Platte, where he was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, and President of the Senior Center Dance Club. He was a lifelong member of the Kiwanis Club, and an avid Husker fan. Andy enjoyed visits with family especially spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lela; former wife, Evonne; wife, Coralee; brothers, Donald, James, Gene, Arnold, Lee Wayne, Jerry, and Danny Knepp; sisters, Anna Osterhoudt, Patricia Mills, Sarah Seiler, and Frances Daffer; and brother-in-law, Vernon Orman.
Those left to cherish Andrew’s memory are his daughters, Corina Mulford of Lincoln, and Katrina Christian of Georgia; step-son, Kelvin (Leigh Ann) Miller of McCook; step-daughter, Myra (Steve) Lezanic of Omaha; grandchildren, Victoria (Matt) Davis of Lincoln, Audrey Schutte of Waverly, Kristina (Chris) Peterson of Lexington, Tylan Peterson of Texas, and Amanda Peterson of Hastings; numerous great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; many step-great grandchildren; brother, Burtis (Linda) Knepp of North Platte; sisters, Ilene Stanley of Haysville, Kan. and Inez (Paul) Minderman of Creighton; sisters-in-law, Sharon Knepp of North Platte, Virginia Orman of Hayes Center; nieces, Jacquie (Danny) Loomis of Maywood, and Sheri (Mike) Hamilton of Hayes Center; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Andy is also remembered by special friends Rod Dye and Nancy McNew who he considered as a special part of his family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in North Platte with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. A meal and reception will immediately follow the services at the church. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook, Neb. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m, with the family receiving friends on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 West B Street, North Platte, Neb., which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
