Karen Sue Rima

McCOOK, Neb. - Karen Sue Rima, age 76, of McCook, Neb. passed away at her home in McCook on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024.

Karen was born Dec. 20, 1947 in McCook to Warren Clarence and Velma Jane (Evans) Bales. She was one of four children who grew up in McCook where she also attended school.

On March 25, 2006, Karen married Richard “Dick” Alan Rima in McCook. Karen loved to bowl in her younger years. She also enjoyed crocheting and needlework, Husker volleyball, watching the Hallmark channel and shopping at Walmart. Karen’s family was her pride and joy. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Karen was a member of the McCook First Church of the Nazarene.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dick Rima in 2016; her daughters, Kimberly Campbell, Kelly Torres and Deb Walker; granddaughter, Kori Ohlson; and great grandson, Ethan.

Those left to celebrate her life include her grandchildren, Jessica (James) Wallace of McCook, Neb., Nate (Shy) Chancellor of Dodge City, Kan., Samantha Hunsaker of Cimarron, Kan., Tyler Ohlson of North Platte, Neb., Megan Pfaff of Dodge City, Kan., Kelsey (Jordan) Bailey of Holdrege, Neb., David (Tiana) Campbell of State College, Pa., Angie Walker of Albuquerque, N.M., Amanda Walker of Houston, Tex. and Desiree (Matthew) Kucera of Hershey, Neb.; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Bales of Kearney, Neb., Dick Bales of Scottsbluff, Neb. and Rod Bales of Minatare, Neb.; as well as numerous extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 at the First Congregational Church in McCook with Pastor Steve Bales officiating.

A private burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
