'Riders run into rough Garden, lose finale 50-23
OSHKOSH, Neb. — Seniors Trenton Williams and Braxton Hammond both topped 100 receiving yards in Southwest’s 50-23 Six-Man playoff loss to Garden County on Friday.
The hosts took a 16-0 lead which was never lost throughout this first-round contest.
However, Williams did catch seven Houston Billeter passes covering 105 yards with a touchdown.
Hammond turned two receptions into 102 yards with another score.
Gavin Hammond also grabbed a seven-yard scoring throw from Billeter, who completed 13 passes for 222 yards overall.
Southwest only aded 37 rushing yards against the stout hosts. Jacob Barber clipped off 21 yards on nine carries.
Gavin Hammond’s five tackles and 16 assists topped the finale for 5-4 Southwest.
