Bison know Minutemen will empty tank on Senior Night at Weiland
McCOOK, Neb. — Lexington’s Minutemen are making their last road trip of a long 1-7 season and McCook knows this old rival will “empty their tanks” at Weiland Field Friday.
A final upset would certainly be the highlight considering Lex has suffered six of seven losses by 18 points or more.
Meanwhile, McCook (5-3) wants to re-ignite for a Class B playoff run which will begin next week.
The Bison are likely traveling with potential sites all perhaps being rematches.
No. 5 Scottsbluff, No. 6 Waverly or No. 7 Gering are all most likely foes as of now to play No. 11 McCook next week.
However, coach Joe Vetrovsky will offer all his focus on previewing the 1-7 Minutemen with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
“Lexington goes as #23 Cesar Cano goes both offensively and defensively. He is stout 5’11” 195 pounds and plays like it.
They use him in a variety of ways on offense both at the running back position and as a running QB.
Their offensive line is big and have improved each and every week as a unit. The challenge for our defense will be slowing down #23 Cesar Cano.
Defensively ,#23 Cesar Cano plays safety and has made a ton of tackles. Their linebacking core as a whole are aggressive and pursue the football well. Lexington likes to bring a lot of pressure so our offense will have to sound in our execution.
It is “senior night” so we will look forward to honoring our seniors who have committed a great deal to our football program over the years.
