Comments from coach Trevor Hoins. Watch for statistical highlights in the next Gazette.

"We were able to wrap up the regular season with a sweep of Hastings. It is always nice to get a win in three.

At times we played well in the match. In the third set we let them get to a 21-20 lead but were able to respond and finish out the set. Overall, I thought we passed really well in serve receive. At times, hitters were able to get going."

The SWC tournament takes place at Broken Bow on Friday.

McCook has earned the No. 6 seed among eight teams and faces No. 3 Ogallala at noon in the Broken Bow High School gymnasium.

Win or lose, they'd play again at 2 p.m. against either No. 2 Holdrege or No. 7 Cozad.

The championship and consolation finals are both set for 4 p.m.

Other SWC quarterfinals feature 11 a.m. matches of No. 1 Minden vs. No. 8 Valentine and No. 4 Broken Bow vs. No. 5 Gothenburg.
