Younger Bison deliver 'total domination' in 42-6 finale over Minutemen

LEXINGTON, Neb. — Coach Nick Umscheid provided these insights about the McCook Junior High's eight-grade football season finale Tuesday evening:

"We defeated Lexington 42-6. Our overall record was 4-1 for the season, our one loss on the year was against North Platte which we were able to avenge later on in our season.

On Tuesday night, it was a great team effort on both offense and defense to pick up the victory against Lexington.  We challenged our players to come out and 'set the tone' right from the beginning of the game and that's just what our guys did. We told them we wanted a game of total domination and they responded in a positive way.

It was fun to see our offense clicking the entire game and to see our defense running around like their hair was on fire.

We told this team that they have only scratched the surface of what their potential is and it will be fun to see how they continue to improve during their high school years."
