McCOOK Neb. — Having been open nearly a year, the Axe House celebrated the venue’s growing popularity and recognized its recent feature on America’s Best Restaurants, which showcased its unique offerings, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Chamber Director Sarah Schneider expressed enthusiasm for The Axe House, stating, “We’re here to celebrate The Axe House and all the fun activities they provide to the community, as well as the delicious food they offer. We’re excited to welcome them as new members this year.”

Owners Ben and his wife Nicole embarked on this venture a year ago after purchasing and transforming the building from the ground up. “It took a little longer than anticipated to get the place ready,” Ben explained. “It was my wife’s idea to introduce axe throwing, which I thought was fantastic, and I wanted to complement that with some food to keep people engaged.” Nicole was unable to attend the ribbon cutting as she was teaching students.

General Manager Corben Muirheid shared the exciting plans for The Axe House, stating, “We are branching out into private events and catering services that we haven’t fully introduced to the public yet. We are looking into options that include bringing our bartenders to private events and expanding our offerings.”

The Axe House is located at 219 Norris Ave. in McCook and is open 5-9 p.m on Sunday and 5-10 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

  • Congratulations. All of the eating establishments in McCook should be Chamber members
