McCOOK, Neb. - Sharon R. (Beebe) Lytle, age 88, of McCook, Neb. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at Highland Park Retirement Community in McCook.
Sharon Rhe (Beebe) Lytle was born April 25, 1936, at the farm of her parents, George Daniel and Julia “Peggy” (Towne) Beebe in Hayes County, Neb. She attended rural School District #53 in Hayes County through the 8th grade and graduated from The University of Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis, Neb. in 1954. She then attended and graduated from McCook Junior College.
On April 19, 1957, she married Jack Lytle at the Methodist Church in McCook. This past April, they celebrated 67 years of marriage. They had one daughter, Dawn Renee.
Sharon was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church and a past member of the Women’s Society. She was an avid genealogist and a charter member of the Southwest Nebraska Genealogical Society. She served several terms in the organization as an officer. She held memberships in other state societies as well. She became a member of the 37th Star Chapter of the Daughters of The American Revolution in McCook, Neb. in 1979 and received a 25-year membership award in 2004. Sharon was very active in the family livestock business and worked with her husband in every aspect of it. Gardening was another of her enjoyments.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Victor Beebe, sister, Beryle Overton and two nephews, Glen Lytle and Murray Overton.
Sharon is survived by her husband Jack and daughter Dawn (Tom) Lytle-Rose both of McCook, Neb. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Sharon’s name to Sharon Beebe Lytle Scholarship Fund, Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, 404 East 7th Street, Curtis NE 69025; or the Hayes Center FFA, c/o Hayes Center Schools, P.O. Box 8, Hayes Center, NE 69032.
A Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook, Neb. with Pastor Jeff Donelan officiating.
