RPAC pairings all set with unbeaten 'Riders, May-Hay top seeds

With an 18-6 season record, the Maywood-Hayes Center volleyball team is again seeded No. 1 among all West RPAC schools entering this year's volleyball tournament starting on Thursday.

CURTIS, Neb. — The 16-team RPAC volleyball tournament tips off at four sites on Thursday leading into semifinals, then finals at McCook's Graff Events Center Tuesday, Oct. 22.

On the West side the games will be played at Maywood  (Maywood Hayes Center) and Benkelman (Dundy County Stratton) and on the East side at Bartley  (Southwest) and Cambridge.  

One week from today, the  semifinals and consolation games will be played at the highest seed remaining in the west and east brackets.

Thursday

WEST

At Maywood

No. 1 Maywood-Hayes Center vs. No. 8 Sutherland, 3:30 p.m.; No. 4 Wallace vs. No. 5 Wauneta-Palisade, 5 p.m; losers play consolation at 6:30 p.m.; winners collide at 8 p.m.

At Benkelman

No. 3 Maxwell vs. No. 6 Hitchcock County, 3:30 p.m.; No. 2 Dundy County-Stratton vs. No. 7 Paxton, 5 p.m.; losers play consolation at 6:30 p.m.; winners face off at 8 p.m.

EAST

At Bartley

No. 1 Southwest vs. No. 8 Medicine Valley, 3:30 p.m.; No. 4 Bertrand vs. No. 5 Southern Valley, 5 p.m.; losers play consolation at 6:30 p.m.; winners are set for 8 p.m. showdown.

At Cambridge

No. 3 Alma vs. No. 6 Arapahoe, 3:30 p.m.; No. 2 Cambridge vs. No. 7 Hi-Line, 5 p.m.; losers play consolation at 6:30 p.m.; winners play an 8 p.m. finale.

Monday, Oct. 21

Matches again take place at 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. at sites of four highest seeds who went 2-0 on Thursday.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

At McCook Community College's Graff Events Center

Third-place match, 5:30 p.m.

Championship, 7 p.m.
