“I thought we started strong in the first set and then we just didn’t carry over with confidence the next three sets,” said MCC Coach Hayley Kobza. “Offensively, we just didn’t show up after the first set and we didn’t’ execute like we wanted to do.”

Caylin Barnett (sophomore, McCook) had five digs, three assist blocks, one ace and nine digs. Freshman Charlee Russick (Berthoud, Colo.) had nine digs, two kills and one solo block.

The Trojans improve to 20-6 on the season and 3-2 in the region.

“They really outworked us and wanted it more, which is really hard – especially on our home court, but we have to move on from here,” said Kobza.

MCC falls to 17-8 and 2-3 in the region.

The Lady Indians remain at home Tuesday for a chance to clinch the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference title against Southeast Community College.
