Former teacher sentenced 10-20 years
IMPERIAL, Neb. — A former teacher at Chase County Schools in Imperial, Neb., has been sentenced to 10-20 years in prison for sex crimes involving students. Jerimiah Vlasin, 41, was sentenced in Chase County District Court on Tuesday.
Vlasin, an agriculture teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor, received 8 to 17 years for possession of sexually explicit material and an additional 2 to 3 years for child abuse and sexual abuse by a school employee.
The charges stem from incidents in 2014 involving two students, aged 17 and 18. Vlasin was arrested in 2023 after a joint investigation by the Imperial Police Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
