GOTHENBURG, Neb. — Three individuals were arrested following a high-speed pursuit near Gothenburg, Nebraska, on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Nebraska State Patrol troopers, with assistance from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended the suspects after a chase that began on Interstate 80 and ended with a search in rural areas.

Around 1:40 p.m., troopers were alerted to a Kia Soul linked to a stolen property investigation in Lexington. When officers attempted a traffic stop near mile marker 219, the vehicle initially slowed but then sped off, reaching speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit continued into Gothenburg before being called off for public safety concerns. A second chase began shortly after when the vehicle was spotted again on Highway 30, eventually coming to a stop in a field north of Gothenburg. Two occupants fled on foot but were captured after a search involving drones, K9 units, and an aircraft.

Steven Conner, 37, of Omaha, the driver, was arrested on multiple charges, including flight to avoid arrest and reckless driving. The passenger, Skyanne Christensen, 24, also of Omaha, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. A third individual, Kayla Tatum, 29, was located walking along Highway 30 and arrested for obstruction. All three were taken to Dawson County Jail.
