Leva Janeen (White) Gill

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - Leva Janeen (White) Gill was born in McCook, Neb., on June 5, 1974. She passed away at Great Plains Health in North Platte on Sept. 28, 2024, at the age of 50.

Janeen, daughter of Thomas and Sheryl White, grew up in McCook then graduated from N.P.H.S. in 1992. She went on to graduate from McCook Community College, then Hope International University with her BA, her Master’s Degree from U.N.K. and most recently she earned her Ph.D. from Capella University.

Janeen was blessed with four daughters, Ashley, Andee, Anastasia and Autumn.

She had her own independent counseling service in North Platte, served on the Mental Health Board, helped start Teammates in McCook, and volunteered for Flat Rock Roller Derby. Janeen loved the Lord and attended services at the Berean Church. All her life she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. She leaves us much too soon and will always be with us.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom White; and brother, Thomas Andrew White.

Survivors include her mother and father, Sheryl and Ron Kotschwar of McCook; daughters, Ashley Winder (Trenten Bruntz) of McCook, Andee Quigley (Taylor) of Indianola, Anastasia Miller (Jaylen Perkins) of Loganville, GA and Autumn Miller of McCook; her sister, Mary Sue Haag of Kearney; brothers, Steven Kotschwar (Kerry) of Lincoln and Jason White of Burlington, Colo.; grandchildren, Adyn McCaslin and Jaylen Perkins, Jr. and little Kyzen Bruntz who’s on the way; nephews, Benjamin and Christopher Haag; and other family and her friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Venue 304, 304 East 5th St., North Platte. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Arrangements are with Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore.
